Someone has poisoned Thalia's sacred tree, so the defenses of Camp Half-Blood are about to disappear and nothing can stop the monsters from invading. Only the mythical Golden Fleece, hidden on the island of the cyclops Polyphemus, can heal the tree. Read more After the successful release of the first part about the adventures of Percy Jackson, the son of one of the Olympian gods, it was decided to immediately shoot a sequel. Taking into account the constant interest of the children's and teenage audience in fantasy films, the idea was well-founded. So, two years after the release of the first film, work began on the project "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters", which at first was called "Olympians: Sea of Monsters". The second film was again based on the next book in the series with the same title. The shooting itself took a little less than a year: starting in June 2012, it ended in January 2013, after which the post-production began in order to have time to release the tape before the summer, when vacations and vacations begin. As in the first part, the same main cast awaits the audience, including Pierce Brosnan, Rosario Dawson, and Sean Bean. The director's chair, instead of Chris Columbus, was taken by the German Thor Frondeital, for whom this is the first major project. Chris Columbus, who has recently taken to patronizing such fantasy projects, acted as one of the executive producers, as was the case with the first film.
