American Steve Rogers really wanted to join the ranks of the army, but he was deemed unfit. James "Bucky" Barnes, a soldier and friend of Steve's takes him to an invention exhibition where he meets Abraham Erskine, a German scientist working for the US government. Abraham offers Steve a military training course, after which scientists Erskine and Howard Stark inject him with a serum that turns him into a superhero.
