Read more Even when Christopher Nolan started shooting the film, little was known about the project. Work on "Interstellar" (Interstellar) took place in the strictest secrecy. As before, the director shot the film exclusively on film, being an opponent of the digital method of shooting. The material used was 35 mm plus IMAX cameras, which took many more meters than in the case of Nolan's previous films. The cinematographer this time was Hoyte Van Hoytema, as Wally Pfister, the director's regular cinematographer, was busy directing The Benefits. Christopher Nolan noticed Matthew McConaughey during the release of the film "Mad" (2012), where the actor embodied a very vivid image of a Texan and generally showed himself to be a true master of his profession. To Jessica Chastain, the script came with a watermark when she was working on the movie "Julie". At the same time, she had to destroy the script immediately after reading it and saying whether she would participate in the project or not. The script is based on the work of theoretical physicist Kip Thorne, a friend of Linda Obst (producer of "Interstellar"). The revisions of the script were ready by 2006 and the film could be shot by Steven Spielberg.
