The film is based on legends and stories that recreate the image of Princess Olga, a stateswoman of Kievan Rus' at the end of the 10th - beginning of the 11th century. These are the stories of three people who have different attitudes towards Olga: the monk Arefa, the housekeeper Malusha, and Volodymyr's grandson Krasne Sonechko.
