Unknown creatures appeared out of nowhere and destroyed almost all life on the planet. The remnants of humanity are forced to hide at an altitude of more than 1,800 meters: there the monsters cannot get them. The main character is from the generation that got used to life in the mountains. But when the lives of his loved ones are at stake, he will have to go beyond the safe line and face the devourers.
