Sonny Gase, dubbed "The Greatest One That Never Was", was Formula One's most promising phenom in the 1990s until an on-track crash nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, he became a traveling hired driver. One day, he is approached by Ruben Cervantes, Sonny's former partner and owner of the Formula 1 team, which was on the verge of collapse. Reuben convinces Sonny to come back to give the team one last chance at salvation and prove that he can still be the best in the world. His racing partner is Joshua Pearce, a bright rookie determined to set his own pace. But with the roar of the engines, Sonny's past is constantly approaching, and he understands that in Formula 1 your partner is also your fiercest opponent, and the path to redemption cannot be walked alone.
