When a nun in a remote convent claims an immaculate conception, the cardinal sends a young but experienced priest, Father Fox, to investigate. The Vatican is worried that an ancient prophecy may come true. According to him, a virgin will give birth to twins, one of whom will be good and the other will be evil. After the babies are born, the darkness thickens, and Father Fox is the only one left to stand against evil until the devil's obsession takes over the world.
