Chlopi

The story of Jagna is a young woman in a Polish village at the end of the 19th century. In this hotbed of gossip and constant enmity between rich and poor, only pride for one's land, devotion to colorful traditions and deep-rooted patriarchy hold them together. Having decided to choose her own life path, the woman finds herself between the conflicting desires of the richest farmer in the village, his eldest son and powerful men. Yanga's resistance leads her on the path of a tragic collision with the village community.
