Sandra is a German writer who lives with her husband Samuel and visually impaired son Daniel in a remote mountain chalet in the French Alps. When Samuel dies under mysterious circumstances, the investigation cannot determine whether it was suicide or premeditated murder. Sandra is eventually arrested for murder, and the court begins to examine her tumultuous family relationship and ambiguous personality under the microscope. When little Daniel is on the dock, the judge begins to have doubts about Sandra's innocence.
