August 1961. A group of young researchers is moving to the south of Italy. Their goal is the deepest cave in Europe, which reaches 700 meters underground. The group remains completely unnoticed by the residents of the neighboring village, only a lone shepherd keeps an eye on the strangers. While the heroes delve into research, the man spends his time studying the depths of the human soul.
