After an accident that nearly took her life, photographer Sam Bloom was left paralyzed. The woman and her relatives are trying to get used to the new circumstances, but it is not easy. Everything changes the day the Blooms find an injured magpie chick that fell out of the nest. Caring for a new family member named Penguin gives the Blooms much-needed solace. The bird changes their lives forever.
