Pilgrimage

Ireland. 1209 year. An island at the edge of the world. A small group of monks embarks on a forced pilgrimage across an island torn apart by centuries of tribal warfare and the growing power of Norman invaders. They accompany the sacred relic of their monastery - the stone used in the martyrdom of St. Matthias, the thirteenth apostle, to Rome. The journey of the monks is shown through the eyes of pious young novices and a mute (or silent) journeyman with a violent past.
