A story about an English language and literature teacher who inspires his students to change at least something in their lives and awakens their interest in poetry and literature. The action of the film takes place in a preparatory school in the town of Welton in the state of Vermont. John Keating is a new English teacher at a conservative college. Keating inspires students to revive the "Dead Poets Society", and in his classes he helps each young man find his own voice in a faceless chorus, discover the beautiful world of nature and poetry. The result of the students' struggle for the right to self-expression is tragic, and this film leaves no one indifferent.
