Home Before Dark

The series was based on real events from the life of nine-year-old Hilda Lysiak. The heroine's family moved from Brooklyn to her father's homeland - to a quiet town on the shore of a lake. It is here that the young truth-seeker has to conduct a real journalistic investigation of an unsolved case, which the whole town, including Hilda's father, has long and unsuccessfully tried to leave in the past.
