Naive but courageous prostitute Cabiria (Juliet Mazina), ashamed of her profession, unsuccessfully tries to find a wealthy patron who would take her with him from a poor quarter. And deep down she dreams of eternal love. Cabiria strives to be happy like no other. She has a golden heart, she is never sad and is ready to enjoy life on any occasion. Cabiria sows kindness around her, and this often turns into humiliation and disappointment for her. Kabiria's dreams are not destined to come true, she becomes a victim of her naivety, but finds the strength to pick herself up every time after another fall and start living anew.
