Screenwriter Ivan Gerasimov does not submit the film script on time due to a creative crisis. The fee is spent, and the customer - a criminal authority - threatens to kill him. The screenwriter is forced to run. He gets to various mysterious places. In the end, he ends up in the "Crossroads" cafe, which is outside of time and space. In this cafe, Ivan meets strange and eccentric people who help him understand himself and understand that in order to have a future, one must leave the burden of memories in the past.
