In the 1980s, Felix Gallardo decided to unite the scattered and independent drug producers and dealers of Mexico and build his own criminal empire. At the same time, Drug Enforcement Administration agent Kiki Camara, having received a promotion, moves with his wife and young son from California to Guadalajara. In a new place, he faces the strongest enemy, and their confrontation drags on for many years.
