Cuba, 1990. Pilot Rene Gonzalez kisses his wife Olga every day, goes to work, steals a plane and flies to Miami - it turns out that he had been planning to escape from this impoverished country for a long time. In his homeland, he is considered a traitor, and in America, the Cuban community gladly provides work and housing. Another Cuban, Juan Pablo Roque, swims to the US base in Guantanamo under the cover of night to ask for political asylum. Juan is welcomed with open arms, fed hamburgers and finds a bride, the beautiful Ana.
