The Last Full Measure

In the center of the plot of the picture, based on real events, is the story of the strange feat of William Pitzenbarger - a military medic who participated in a rescue operation in Vietnam in the spring of 1966. Despite heavy enemy fire and the possibility of leaving the battle zone, William refused to leave, after which he continued to help his comrades. Thirty-two years later, Pentagon employee Scott Guffman begins an investigation into the circumstances of the medic's heroic act, after receiving a request to posthumously award Pitzenbarger the Medal of Honor. However, Guffman's communication with veterans who witnessed William's heroism unexpectedly leads to the disclosure of a secret conspiracy between the highest military ranks...
