In a cheap brothel at the foot of the Athenian fortress, a man recalls the impressive events of his life. His search for love and glory is retold and lived by many: a prostitute with an irreparable past, a gangster who is haunted by misfortune, an icon painter who has no faith... In one of those stories, a man finds his wealth, in another - he becomes a wandering prophet, in yet another - he returns home to his wife. His memories betray him, but he knows for sure that in one of these lives he will be killed.
