Oh, there was a time. Magic, flying unicorns, all sorts of other mythical creatures. But evolution and new technologies forced to give up magic, because it is simply not needed anymore. It's daytime and with fire you won't find anyone who can cast spells. So the two elf brothers Ian and Barley did not see those wonderful times, although they heard about it. Their father died a long time ago, but on their sixteenth birthday he left the boys a real magic staff. They can do a lot with this artifact, they just need to learn. And their first wish is to bring dad back to life. Unfortunately, Ian has no experience in the magical realm, so he only created the bottom half of the dad.
