John Shaft III is a cyber security specialist at the FBI who is not used to solving problems with brute force. He prefers to rely on logic and calculation, but the murder of his best friend puts him in a dead end. He cannot be dealt with by modern methods, so John has no choice but to turn to the older generation of Shafts, whose old methods will help him find the killer.
