The events of the adaptation of Victor Hugo's famous novel take place in Paris in the first half of the 19th century. The main protagonists are former convict Jean Valjean, Inspector Javert, as well as young Cosette and her mother Fantine. Among other things, Hugo's "Wretches" tell about the continuous war between good and evil in society and every human soul.
