Aurora Borealis: Északi fény
Aurora Borealis: Északi fény
A family-historical drama that appears before the audience in two time dimensions. A heart attack and a short-term coma of old Maria served as an impetus for the arrival of her daughter, an eternally busy business person, from Vienna to the Hungarian province. Olga would never have canceled the fateful business trip to Japan, would not have crossed the threshold of her mother's house, and would not have accidentally come across old drawings and torn photographs of unfamiliar, but obviously very important people for her mother. Who are they? Why did Maria have a sudden heart attack? And what really happened in the distant year 1954, when young Maria, together with the love of her life, repressed after the introduction of the communist regime by the nobleman Akosh, tried to escape to Austria occupied by the Soviet army?... Olga's increasingly passionate search brings her back to post-war Europe, where at the end of the road she finds herself: a person she did not know until now. Through non-standard situations, with purely female sensuality, the film tells about dramatic situations that follow a crisis of self-identity and wounds that never heal, as well as about the liberating power of exposed lies and silences.
