Black '47

The action of the film takes place in 1847, when Ireland was in the grip of the Great Famine, which completely destroyed the country. The main character Feeny leaves the British army and returns to his family. But whatever horrors he saw in the war, he did not expect to see such in his native Ireland: the country was exhausted, the people became wild and embittered, his mother died, and his brother was hanged by the ruthless English.
