Six different chapters will show you a story with its own moral. "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs" will tell the story of a skilled cowboy who shoots well and sings. In the chapter "In Algodones" the bank robber finds himself in a very difficult situation. Food Stamp is a bleak story about two weary traveling artists. "Golden Canyon" is a story about an old man looking for gold. And "The Girl Who Was Frightened" is a story about how a woman finds unexpected love obligations, provided with a considerable dose of caustic life irony. And, finally, the sixth chapter, entitled "The Decayed Remains", is a philosophical story about strangers heading to Fort Morgan.
