La douleur

June 1944, France is still under German occupation. The writer and communist Robert Anthelm, the main figure of the Resistance, was arrested and deported. His young wife, the writer Marguerite Duras, meets Pierre Rabier - a French agent who works in the Gestapo. A woman is ready to do anything to find her husband. The end of the war turns for Marguerite into agony, pain, unbearable waiting for Robert's return - alive or dead.
