The end of the 1950s. Young widow Florence Green realizes her dream: after buying a shabby house on the sunny coast of an English town, the girl opens a bookstore, shocking local conservatives with radical literature such as "Lolita" and "Fahrenheit 451". Florence finds support only from the withdrawn widower, Mr. Brandish.
