Don Quixote is a legendary character in world literature. Everyone knows about the old man who fought with windmills. How many were mentioned about him in other works, how many films were made about him. One director-marketer Tobias Grammet, or simply Toby, once created his thesis, a film, about this very character. Now he is trying to squeeze out another masterpiece of commerce, but without success. For inspiration, he goes to the very village where the same film was made. Toby found Don Quixote himself there - the same actor who once played the main role in his picture. He got so used to the role that he made a mistake and remained in the image forever. Don Quixote accepted Toby as his faithful assistant Sancho Panza and is ready to go on adventures. All the lines will blur: between real and fictional, between present and past, between delusion and truth. More The director of the film is Terry Gilliam, whose career includes the projects "12 Monkeys" (1995), "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" (1998), "The Brothers Grimm" (2005). The man dreamed of creating this picture for 17 years, and finally he succeeded with many problems. The film starred: Adam Driver ("Sweet Frances" (2012), "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" (2015), "Paterson" (2016)), Jonathan Pryce ("Brazil" (1985), "Evita" (1996), the TV series "Game of Thrones"), Stellan Skarsgård ("Chopping the Waves" (1996), "Will Hunting" (1997), "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" (2011)), Olga Kurylenko ("Max Payne", "Quantum of Mercy" (both 2008), "Oblivion" (2013)). The premiere of the film took place on May 19, 2018 at the Cannes Film Festival, France. Film critics at http://www.metacritic.com gave the film a score of 54/100, and https://www.rottentomatoes.com has 59% positive reviews (13/22).
