Catherine left her daughter Alba to be raised by her grandmother Elizabeth when the girl was still very small, the height of a tennis racket. 10 years after this separation and trip abroad to Switzerland, the mother returns to her native Luxembourg to her relatives. Raised by her grandmother, Alba does not want to accept her mother, because she abandoned her. Moreover, the girl received a strict education from the somewhat tyrannical and domineering Elizabeth. Catherine decides to kidnap her own daughter in order to make up for lost time and spend as much time alone as possible away from any other people. They go far to the North to live in a house on a lake where there is no one around. This should help mother and daughter really get to know each other.
