November 1918. There are only a few days left until the end of the First World War. A young artist, the son of a rich man, Edouard Pericot, and a former bank employee, Albert Maillard, met on the battlefield. They have nothing in common except war. That was until Edward saved Albert. But for this, the young man himself suffered - he received terrible facial mutilations. Now the boy has no desire to return to his native home - it is better to be considered dead or missing. Edward is ready to hide his face with a mask for the rest of his life so that no one will see this horror. But no one took away his talent - the artist creates incredible pictures about the war. Albert became his representative, advertising the master and selling his canvases. Even after the war, they found a way to help each other and survive.
