Will Hunting is a 20-year-old boy from Boston who repeatedly gets involved in unpleasant stories. Unexpectedly, he discovers phenomenal mathematical abilities. When the police arrest him for another fight, the math professor takes him under his care, but on one condition: Will must undergo a course of psychotherapy. The "re-education" sessions, which began with mistrust, gradually develop into friendship between Will and his mentor.
