The story of 5-year-old rebellious Vitka, her teenage cousin Larisa and her beloved young bandit Shram unfolds in the Ukrainian province. Larisa has finished school, but the question of her future is acutely in front of her. She wants to create her destiny with her own hands, but the whole village condemns her for her love for the bandit Scar. Grandma and mother only think about what people say, so the girl does not get support from them. Larisa understands that she does not want to live like them and repeat their fate. The lovers plan to run away together away from destruction, public condemnation, relatives and criminals. But will they be willing to pay the full price of freedom?
