Levko is an ordinary Ukrainian guy who lives in a small village. His uncle died, but left the mill to his nephew as an inheritance. One day, fate made Levko a witness to the mystical and strange disappearance of the local Jew Yankel. The boy was not left empty-handed here either and received a moneylender's tavern. They say that Yankel was kidnapped by the devil himself - village legends. But a year later, he returns, saying that he really escaped from an evil force. At this time, Levko, already a rich and noble man, completely loses his head from these ringing coins. He wants more, and more, and more. He loses the desire to love, make friends, and help other people. Dark forces take over him. Levko can save himself only if he realizes his mistakes.
