Welsh journalist Gareth Jones has always been drawn to the most dangerous people on this planet. He already interviewed Hitler himself, and now, in the 1930s, he dreams of an interview with Joseph Stalin. For this, the guy flew to Moscow and is ready to achieve this event in all different ways. After spending some time in the USSR, Gareth met another journalist named Ada Brooks. She opened his eyes to the world that is considered a Soviet utopia - constant repression, murders, censorship and the Holodomor. Then Gareth takes the most dangerous step in his life - he writes an article about the tragedy of the Ukrainian people, which exposes the Stalinist regime. The Soviet secret services are looking for a way to silence the journalist, and the young writer George Orwell used this information as the basis for his novel "Collective Animal Farm".
