Sam, a former rodeo champion, now lives a quiet life in a godforsaken town in Alaska, where he runs a modest roadside motel. Elwood is a young man who stopped by his hotel; friendship develops between two men who, as it turns out, have common roots. Elwood, however, did not come for nothing, and has a direct connection to the shocking crime that recently shook the town.
