Szwadron

The story of the Russian squadron of dragoons that suppressed the Polish national uprising in 1863. The young aristocrat Yeremin, who was abandoned by his girlfriend, joins the army in a romantic impulse and goes to Poland. Squadron commander Dobrovolski, a Pole in Russian service, is distinguished by exceptional cruelty and cynicism, which terrifies a young man from an intelligent family. Yeremin does well in battles as a soldier and commander, but he believes less and less in the rightness of the cause.
