Blue Velvet

The setting is the provincial United States, such a respectable town, almost a village, Lumberton. The young man, who will become the main character of the film, finds someone's severed ear on a green field. Trying to find out who this ear belonged to, the young man enters a gloomy, creepy world, a kind of looking-glass that hides behind the seemingly polished facade of an American town.
