The famous and incredibly influential oligarch Aristides Leonidis dies. It is obvious that someone killed him. Aristide's granddaughter Sophia wants to find out the truth about this case, so she invites her good acquaintance, detective Charles Hayward, whom she met at the end of World War II in Egypt. He must investigate the case before Scotland Yard discovers Leonidis' family secrets. All the inhabitants of the estate grew up in a rich society, they do not know the real rules. There is an atmosphere of treachery, betrayal and envy everywhere. A theater actress, a widow and the main woman in the family - each of them had reasons to kill old Aristides.
