Danny is the eldest son of the grumpy and once famous sculptor Howard Myrowitz, a frail and lame poet-song. Danny came to New York to his father, brought his daughter and his problems. In addition to Danny, Howard has a daughter, Jean, and a son from his second marriage, Matthew, a successful accountant, who lives in Los Angeles. Howard also has problems, for example, his fourth wife recently stopped drinking, as a result of which her character deteriorated. Soon Howard will have an exhibition of works at the MOMA. Children help with its preparation, the elderly sculptor recalls stories from his life.
