To bring something new to their long-term marriage, the American couple Anna and Bob decide to move to a beautiful house in the most romantic city in the world - Paris. Fortunately, their family is rich, they can afford it. In honor of this move, they organize an elite dinner to which friends from different countries of the world are invited. But superstitious Anna realizes before dinner that there are 13 appliances on the table. Saving the situation, she offers Maria's maid to pretend to be a mysterious Spanish lady. It would have been nothing, but a little wine loosened Maria's language, and she simply fell in love with one of the guests - a British collector. He is a rich man, and she is a simple servant.
