An ordinary Ukrainian village of the beginning of the 20th century. A local Jewish matchmaker organizes the most original marriages. He is also looking for a bride for the rich butcher Leyser. He wants to marry them off successfully so that they don't know the burdens of poverty and live happily. Read more The film is based on Grigory Horin's play "Funeral Prayer", which in turn is an embodiment of Sholom Aleichem's collection "Tevye the Milkman". The picture was filmed near Kyiv, Ukraine, in particular at the National Museum of Folk Architecture "Pyrogovo" - one of the largest open-air museums. And the process of creating the project lasted more than 5 years. The film is directed by Volodymyr Lert. He previously worked on the films "Rejection" (2009), "Valentine's Night" (2016). The film starred: Yevhen Knyazev ("Escape" (2005), the TV series "Wolf Messing: The One Who Saw Through Time"), Andriy Kaikov ("6 Frames"), Viktor Andrienko ("The One Who Walked Through the Fire" (2011)), Volodymyr Dolynskyi ("Yarik" (2007), the TV series "Highway Cars").
