The Artist's Garden: American Impressionism

2017 12+ United Kingdom
90 min. Fil Grabski

Phil Grabsky presents a new film dedicated to the exhibition "The Artist's Garden: American Impressionism" prepared by the Florence Griswold Museum in Connecticut, one of the strongholds of American Impressionism. Influenced by figures such as Renoir and Monet, American Impressionism, however, blazed its own trail in the art world. The study of this artistic direction in America can tell a lot not only about its representatives, but also about the country itself. In America, the development of Impressionism was closely related to horticulture, the purpose of which was to preserve nature in its original form in a country experiencing a process of rapid urbanization. The film-exhibition goes to the picturesque places of America, Great Britain and France and will be a real feast for the eyes.
