Every morning, Louise has to go to the same fast food restaurant - she works there as a waitress. She has a boyfriend - a musician who, while touring roadside bars, often forgets about his beloved. Energetic and formerly cheerful Thelma, after marrying Darryl, noticed that a woman's place is in the kitchen with pans, and a man's place is in the chair in front of the TV. Such a life does not suit both women, and one fine day, the glass of their patience overflows. They decide to leave the town, which disgusts them, away from their intolerable husbands. Unfortunately, they will have to commit a series of crimes on the way. Including murder. They are declared wanted by the federal government, and the girlfriends have only one choice - to get to Mexico.
