The action of this chamber drama takes place in a forester's house surrounded by a beautiful birch grove at the end of winter - at the beginning of spring. Brother Stanislav, seriously ill with tuberculosis, comes to Boleslav to spend the last months of his life with him. Boleslav, who after the death of his wife lives with his daughter Olya and housekeeper Malina, cannot get used to the extravagant lifestyle of Stanislav, who decided to enjoy his last moments. A subconscious and emotionally intense competition between the brothers begins.
