Alois, a quirky private detective, observes the lives of others and films them on camera. After the death of his father, he gets drunk and falls asleep on the bus, and when he wakes up, he discovers the loss of the camera and all the recordings. Later, he receives a call from a mysterious woman who blackmails him into agreeing to an obscure experiment. Alois falls in love with the voice on the other end of the line and must muster the strength to finally break through his loneliness.
