Frank Reagan is the New York City police chief and the patriarch of the Reagan family, which he runs as diplomatically as he runs the police, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his over-bold father, Henry, when he was chief of police. Frank's source of pride and concern is his eldest son, Danny, an experienced detective, family man and Iraq war veteran who sometimes resorts to questionable methods to solve cases. The only woman in the family, Erin, works as an assistant prosecutor in New York, a single mother who serves as the compass of the law for her brothers and father. Jamie is the youngest of the Reagans, recently graduated from Harvard Law School and is considered the "golden child" of the family. But he decided to follow the family tradition, and gave up his job at a prestigious law firm to become a cop. His decision seems to be supported by his girlfriend, the beautiful Sidney, an aspiring lawyer. Jamie's life suddenly takes a sharp turn when he is offered to participate in an internal investigation, which even his father does not know about, and which could affect the whole family.
