Based on Alexander Green's story "One Hundred Versts along the River". Gelli and Nok accidentally find themselves in the same boat and for several days they sail together along the river to the sea. He is a fugitive convict, she is young, frank and pure. Helly managed to bring the disappointed Nok back to life, gave him love and happiness.
