Future Congressman Roger is about to propose to the girl of his dreams at her hometown lake house. But everything goes awry when he meets his future brother-in-law Todd, a full-time counselor with a big heart and a wild sense of humor. In a desperate attempt to become Roger's best friend, Todd gets himself into a lot of trouble. And now it seems to Roger that becoming part of a new family is not such an easy matter.
