Fate brings three people together in Jericho, a town in East Germany, where the population is migrating en masse and the unemployment rate is rising. Thomas, a discharged soldier, returns home after his mother dies. He is friends with Ali, a hot-tempered diner owner, but his wife treats him with disrespect. Unwittingly, Ali pushes Laura and Thomas into a passionate encounter that changes everything.
